Hello! I'm Mrs. Ecalne!
|
I am a third grade teacher at Northmead Elementary. This school year will be my 18th year of teaching! I have taught fourth grade, eighth grade, third grade, and second grade. I have always wanted to be a teacher and I feel so lucky to be doing something I love.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies with a supplemental in Social Science from California State University, East Bay (Hayward). I have a Master's Degree in Education- Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Reading Instruction from California State University, Stanislaus. I enjoy reading, gardening, and hiking. My ideal activity on the weekend is to stay home. I am a homebody through and through! I have a very loving family, wonderful friends, and a supportive husband who is also a teacher. I was born in Manila, Philippines and immigrated to the United States when I was six years old. Being born in a tropical climate, I feel Patterson has been the perfect place for me. Traveling is my joy- learning about different cultures, eating delicious food, and encountering friendly people along the way. My husband and I have traveled throughout the United States, Asia, and Europe in years past. Right before Covid hit, my mom and I took a 16 day trip to seven countries and 11 cities in Europe. This summer, my husband and I were away for almost a whole month. We traveled to Washington D.C., Athens, Greece and then to Pernes Les Fontaines, Avignon, and L'Isle sur de la Sorgue in France! I love teaching and I love learning. I truly enjoy what I do and I am absolutely dedicated to my students. |
